What new electric cars are coming out in 2021?

The market for “zero-emission” cars is exploding, and the year 2021 will be full of new electric cars! it will be full of new features in 2021. Overview of the models that will be unveiled and/or marketed.

Electric vehicles are developing more and more quickly. And beyond the growing attention paid to environmental issues, there are also various factors that allow the rise of so-called “zero emissions” cars.

If 2020 was marked by the arrival of many new electric cars, the year 2021 will not be outdone. No less than 20 new models will be unveiled or launched on the market during the year.

It must be said that manufacturers have no choice. They must sell “green” cars to reduce their CO2 emissions and thus avoid heavy fines from the European Union.

Among the most anticipated models is the Dacia Spring. This small city car, 3.73 meters long, is presented by the brand as “the cheapest electric car on the market”.

Officially, no price has been revealed but we can easily estimate the entry ticket at less than 15,000 euros, knowing that the most attractive model to date – the electric Renault Twingo – is sold at nearly 15,600 euros after deduction. of the ecological bonus.

Speaking of Renault, the diamond brand will unveil its new Mégane at the end of the year. A Mégane that will be 100% electric! The vast majority of other novelties will – unsurprisingly – be SUVs: Volkswagen ID4, Ford Mustang Mach-E, or Opel Mokka-e.

Hyundai and Kia will unveil an electric SUV, based on a new platform, while Mercedes will lift the veil on its “S-Class of electric vehicles”, dubbed EQS. Finally, the year 2021 should mark the arrival of the Tesla Model Y (another SUV) on the market.

But there is also a fourth fundamental lever (as seen in China): the variety of models on the market. And if – at least from this point of view – 2020 was already a very interesting year for Europe, 2021 should drive the point home with a real wave of innovations expected on the market.
