Introduction

BMW Motorsport was created in May 1972, conceived to support BMW’s racing endeavors. If it had stayed there, it still would are a historic outfit. Only BMW Motorsport (renamed BMW M in 1993) didn’t stop at racing; it eventually branched bent made a number of the simplest high-performance road vehicles ever, funneling its racing know-how to BMW dealerships around the world. Nearly since its inception, BMW M has generated legendary sports cars, coupes, sedans, wagons, and (much later) SUVs, all sporting the coveted M badge.

BMW I4 Revealed

Here is the very first BMW I car (or electric, if you prefer) in history to also sport the M badge. Bad luck for the German manufacturer, they had not planned to present it until next month.

BMW has revealed some new images of the upcoming i4 – a fully-electric four-door saloon intended to rival the Tesla Model 3. Introduced at the 2021 Shanghai Motor Show, the brand has announced what its electric 3 Series alternative looks like in M Sport guise, before it goes on sale in Europe this autumn.

Just days after the BMW Spain teams mistakenly published a photo of the restyled X3 SUV on their website, another communication failure for BMW. This time, it is the ultimate version of the new BMW i4 electric sedan – the Motorsport version – which is displayed in broad daylight and ahead of Instagram. The original post has since been deleted but it has been shared many times by the specialized press and the vehicle can be easily found elsewhere, always on Insta.

The New BMW I4 Performance

This isn’t the hot M Performance variant of the new BMW i4 has promised. It is, instead, a look at how the BMW i4 appears in the racy-looking M Sport trim that’s a popular choice with buyers across the BMW line-up.

In April, the manufacturer presented an i4 equipped with an M Sport series. Aggressive shield and larger air extractors at the front, diffuser at the rear, all the elements of sportiness were already present or almost in this concept, it just lacked a more powerful, more exclusive engine.

Even if we do not yet know what power the “base” models – which can receive this specific pack – will develop. On the other hand, the manufacturer had already shared the elements concerning this cutting-edge version that you have in front of you today bearing the name M50.

Its engine will thus develop 530 hp. 20 hp more than the new M3. It will certainly be heavier but that will not prevent it from accelerating as hard since it should achieve the exercise from 0 to 100 km / h in about 4 s according to the manufacturer, the M3 takes 3.9 s. This is played out in a pocket square. For the rest, it will be necessary to wait until June 1 to know all the details concerning this model.
